Can I Breastfeed After Breast Augmentation?
Many women considering breast augmentation are concerned about the ability to breastfeed in the future. The good news is that most women can successfully breastfeed after breast augmentation, particularly when the procedure is planned with this goal in mind.
Breastfeeding ability is influenced by incision placement and implant positioning. Incisions placed in the fold beneath the breast (inframammary) are least likely to interfere with milk ducts. Implant placement beneath the muscle can also help preserve glandular tissue.
If you have not breastfed yet, Dr. Augustine will discuss your long-term goals during consultation to ensure your surgical plan supports future breastfeeding whenever possible.
